Sandy Point ATV Day Excursion
Pirate’s Haven ATV Tour to Sandy Point is geared for the Historian, and we all have some need to engage with the past and way things were years ago. Sandy Point was coined a “hidden island” and for many years was a safe haven for Pirate’s of the day. The last two settlers of Sandy Point were resettled to the community of St. George’s during the 1970’s. This ATV Tour departs early morning and travels to Flat Bay along the T’Rail and then onto Flat Bay Beach and cross “The Gap”, and onto Sandy Point. Here you can visit the lighthouse, and the divided Cemeteries of the Anglican and Roman Catholic, view migratory birds, the island hosts a diverse habitat ranging from tidal sandflats, meadows and freshwater ponds. Once you arrive on Sandy Point stroll along the island embracing the history and uniqueness of this amazing land and imagining what it was like 100 years ago.
